Gerald "Jerry" Ptaschinski Sr., age 90, of Beaver Dam, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 16, 2019.

A visitation for Jerry will take place on Friday, May 24th from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church (Mission Hall) in Beaver Dam. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Erwin presiding. Burial will take place at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146.

Gerald was born the son of Alois J. and Katherine M. (Manthey) Ptaschinski on May 8, 1929 in Beaver Dam. He was a 1946 graduate of Beaver Dam High School and went on to attend Wayland Junior College and UW Madison for Civil Engineering. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army where he was based in Kobe, Japan. Gerald was united in marriage with Lillian F. Bachofen on October 27, 1951 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Jerry was the founder of Ptaschinski Construction Inc. of Beaver Dam a concrete contractor.
Gerald and Lillian are active members of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam and very active at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and St. Mark's Catholic Church in the Wautoma area. He was a resident of Mt. Morris area for 30 years. He was involved with the Waushara County Habitat for Humanity and Wautoma County Cupboard. Jerry loved the outdoors, whether he was snowmobiling, kayaking, hiking or going for a motorcycle ride. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife.

He is survived by his wife Lillian, children; Thomas (Eva) Ptaschinski of Beaver Dam, Charles (Terri) Ptaschinski of Shawno, Nancy (William) Parkhurst of Beaver Dam, Patricia (Mark) Ehlenfeldt of Beaver Dam, daughter-in-law; Nancy Ptaschinski of Beaver Dam, two sisters; Shirley Lunde of Beaver Dam and Susan (David) Rosenmeier of Fond du Lac, sister-in-law; Gloria Ptaschinski, along with 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Jerry is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Butch in 2019 and one brother; Roger.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hillside Hospice or the Badger Honor Flight.
