Obituary

Wilton L. Zick, age 70, of Beaver Dam, died unexpectedly watching the Packer game on TV with family on Sunday, September 10, 2017.

There will be a memorial gathering at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 2:30 pm to 4:20 pm. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Friday, promptly, at 4:30 pm. Fr. Mike Erwin will officiate.

Wilton Lee Zick was born on September 18, 1946 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to the late Wilton and Angeline (Vossekuil) Zick. On October 11, 1969, he was united in marriage with Lynn A. Budde in Beaver Dam. Wilt was employed as the Lab Manager at National Rivet in Waupun until he retired in March of 2009. In retirement, he enjoyed trips to the casino with his wife and working at Gopher's Driving Range in Beaver Dam. Wilt had many interests he enjoyed with his family and friends including camping, hunting, golfing, pitching horseshoes, snowmobiling, and being part of the Senior Class team on Wednesday Night Trivia at Park Avenue Sports Cafe. He also enjoyed bowling in the Thursday Night Men's League and was Secretary of the League for many years. Wilt was also a past president of the local bowling association. He was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and the Knights of Columbus Pope John XXIII Council 1837 in Beaver Dam.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Zick of Beaver Dam; two children, Julie (Jim) Mai of Beaver Dam and Joel (Jennifer) Zick of Manitowoc; five grandchildren, Amanda, Jordan, and Caleb Mai, and Addison and Landon Zick; his great granddaughter, Gwen Williams; his brother, Darryl (Linda) Zick of Fond du Lac; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert (Cathy) Budde of Beaver Dam, Jean (Robert) Daniels of Stevens Point, Jack (Phyllis) Budde of Brookfield, Sr. John Marie Budde of Milwaukee, and Christine (Christopher) Bauer of Newmarket, NH; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wilt was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Melissa Mai.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family and will be distributed to several local charities.

The family would like to thank the first responders, area law enforcement, and emergency room staff for their kindness and care.
